Reigning champion and world No 1 Luke Humphries is out of the tournament after defeat to an inspired Peter Wright in the last 16 but last year’s beaten finalist Luke Littler is still standing.

Littler saw off Nathan Aspinall to book a semi-final showdown with Stephen Bunting, while Michael van Gerwen remains in the hunt for a fourth world title and faces Chris Dobey for a chance to reach the final.
